Investor Insights: An Overview of PitchBook’s H1 2025 VC Tech Survey
Having done a deep dive into PitchBook’s H1 2025 VC Tech Survey, not to mention living and breathing the state of venture with my clients who are in market for capital, I wanted to share my thoughts about how investors appear to be recalibrating their approach to technology startups.
It seems there's no panic in the air, just a shift in posture. Investors are tightening their focus, pricing in geopolitical tension amid tariffs and supply chain strain, and scrutinizing deals with a sharper legal and strategic lens.
In my new blog for Foley Ignite, I break down what this means for deal terms, AI adoption hurdles, evolving fundraising expectations, and the renewed focus on sectors like defense and domestic infrastructure. Fintech is flagged as the most AI-disruptable space currently, and from what I’m seeing, founders are definitely having to balance speed with compliance more than ever.
In short: caution is the new conviction.
